Loading Data for Glock 17C using Vihta Vuori Powder

Hi Guys, I am very new to the firearms world.

For the first 70 rounds that I fired from my Glock 17C, I used factory rounds from Armscor 124gr FMJ. I am now planning to have my shells sent for re-loading and I was wondering if anybody has the Loading Data for a Glock 17C. Specs of reload will be 130gr teflon head 1.125oal 4.0 vihtavouri N320.

Can you please tell me more about the reloads? I am not reloading myself, but it will be good to learn about the technicalities of this. Someone told me that N340 4,5 grain is better than N320? some says the other way around.

I have also been told by a guy from the range that I shouldn't use reloads for my Glock because it can "destroy" my firearm or something. I used reloads for the next 70 shots that I fired with 130gr (I don't know the rest of the specs) and I did not encounter any problems with the firearm.

Also, does reload specs affect shooting accuracy?

I have a total of 140 shots fired from my G17C so far.

    Thanks guys.

I reload and have been shooting my reloads out of my G17 for over 20 years with no adverse effects.

They tell you that because some people like to push the limits with powder charges.

As to the difference to the powders it's how fast the powder burns.
The school of thought is faster burning powder and a heavier bullet produces less felt recoil.

Here's a link to Vihta Vuori Powder data for 9mm 130 gr bullet. It gives a minimum and maximum recommendation for each powder type for that bullet weight.

The bullet manufacturer may have more info for that particular bullet.

Have your reloader make up a couple of boxes at various powder charges for you to try out.

When looking at data like this remember that barrel length affects the pressure readings in the chart. They used a 4" barrel so your G 17C will produce higher pressures out of a longer barrel.

If this ammo is used for a match it may have to pass a minimum power test. See if your reloaded will check what he makes for you. Check your local chapter for more accurate info.

    Good luck with your shooting.

VV n320 is probably the most popular powder for minor powerfactor 9mm loads.

Ask your reloader what load he recommends.

You don't really need to worry too much about powerfactor until you start shooting big matches where they run a chronograph stage to check it... Normally level I matches don't run a chrono stage and you should be fine...
